The Weirdchina Family Makes An Appearance In Shandong, Weifang, China 潍坊中国

Here is a sneak peak of the appearance the weirdchina family made in Weifang, China 潍坊 in Shandong Province 山东. Weifang is known as the kite capital of the world.

We received a very warm welcome, so many people greeted us and at times it felt like a mob! It's always a little weird, when people say they have seen us on a Chinese TV channel or in a local Chinese newspaper.

Networked and made some excellent connections, both business and personal, because of this,  I think we will be coming back here very soon to check out other potential money making opportunities.

Over the next couple of days, I will be adding more photos and videos to our blog at weirdchina.com - We saw lots of cool things here and we would love to share it all with you.

76% of U.S. & Canadian internet sellers block orders from Nigeria

The African country of Nigeria tops a new CyberSource survey, as the most blocked country by USA online merchants. Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa with over 140,000,000 million people, is commonly associated with an e-mail fraud called "419" or the "Nigerian Scam"

76% of merchants in that group shut off orders from Nigeria, 58% from Ghana, and 32% from Pakistan. Other countries blocked in 2008 included Indonesia, 23%, Singapore, 19%, Romania, 18%, China, Russia, and Vietnam with 13% each, and South Korea and Hong Kong with 10% each

Chinese Yuan: Paying the Rent in China. What 20,000 RMB Looks Like

I will be paying the rent today. Will pay five months rent in advance and in cash.

This is what 20,000RMB looks like (about $2926).

So rent comes out to be just 4000RMB ($585.00) a month. For a family of five, this is a steal for housing!

We live in a 2000 square foot apartment, upstairs and downstairs, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, in a high rise building, near the beach.

One of the benefits of living in China is the cheap rent, very cheap compared to the US or UK. When we were living in the US, our housing costs was over $2500 a month, and of course we were not near the beach. Going from $2500 a month to $585 month has really made a positive difference in our lives. Other cheaper apartments were also available, a 3 bedroom would of cost about $400 and a 1 bedroom as low as $150 a month.

We also pay it in advance, so it feels great knowing that our housing is now taken care of for the next 5 months. Imagine not having to stress about making a mortgage payment or a rent payment.
